About Gällivare
In Lapland lies the conurbation Gällivare. With its proximity to wilderness Gällivare is the ideal place for nature and outdoor enthusiasts. Mineral extraction from the mine “Aitik” and Ore mountain is the primary industries in the county but also a popular sight.
Another famous place in Gällivare is the ski resort Dundret where both alpin skiing and cross country skiing is popular. To mention some famous athletes originally from Gällivare we have; Thomas Fogdö and Markus Hellner. During the winter you can learn how to manage dog sleds and in the summer; hike in the mountains, fish in lakes and run paintball in the forest.
