About Umeå

Umeå, also called the city of birches, lies lengthwise the Gulf of Bothnia. The city is a flourishing university town where you often come across students. With the beautiful river running through the center of the town and the many parks located around the center, one can easily say that Umeå has a very pleasant environment. During the summer you can enjoy an ice-cream by the river or go swim on one of the adjacent beaches. When the snow falls, Umeå is close to both down-hill skiing and snowmobile tours. Recently the town recieved the establishment European capital city of culture 2014. E&E is stationed in this wonderful town, and wants to name a pair of glasses after it!
